Monsieur Dior was fond of “un coup de Trafalgar”, his term for energizing a show with a sudden, unexpected injection of color. For her #DiorFall24 show at the @BrooklynMuseum, @MariaGraziaChiuri employed a similar tactic with a tricolor print culled from the archives, originally designed as a scarf to mark the US Bicentennial in 1976. Its fusion of American and French flags distills the ethos behind this collection unveiled in New York, which also featured a plethora of inky interpretations of that city’s skyline and Paris’s, too, positioned on dresses, coats and #DiorBookTote bags alike, and to bold effect on urban wear separates. The collection bows on Dior.com and in select boutiques starting April 18.
