Reputed for her radical appropriation of menswear, the iconic actress Marlene Dietrich was also an undeniable glamorous figure, and backstage at the @BrooklynMuseum before the unveiling of #DiorFall24, for which she was @MariaGraziaChiuri's major inspiration, that aspect of her style was out in force. The jet beaded mesh and tassels in particular recalled her screen and stage career, and a perfectly fitted jacket was a recreation of one Monsieur Dior had originally designed for her, its dragonfly embroideries borrowed from another archival piece. Carried by one of the models, a #LadyDior bag created by Faith Ringgold appeared on the runway as a tribute to the recently deceased American artist.
