MY SPACE | Melbourne Interior Designer Alessia Ferrarini "With young kids, most of the time at home is spent in the kitchen, living room, and garden during summer. I wanted to ensure that these places were combined in a big open ambience to enjoy meals, playtime, and entertainment.” – Alessia Ferrarini Interior designer Alessia Ferrarini and her husband locked eyes on their inner-city terrace five years ago, in a state of disrepair and ‘on the verge of collapse’. They engaged Melbourne architecture practice Cera Stribley to lead the terrace restoration and add a second storey through a new brick extension. The home marked the first project for Ferrarini’s namesake studio, and with the recent arrival of a second child, it has already proven its worth in meeting the needs of a growing young family. We spoke to Ferrarini about how the design reflects her Italian heritage, the story behind some of her favourite pieces and what she loves most about living in a home of her own design. Read more about the interior designer's inner-city home on estliving.com – link in profile. Published on estliving.com Editor & words @sophlew_says Architecture @cerastribley Interior design @alessiaferrarini_studio Photography @tomross.xyz
