“I had just received the Alpha 1 II when I was leaving for this epic trip so it was my 1st time using the Alpha I II and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I knew going into this trip that conditions could be challenging because I was going to be shooting from a boat with low light, mostly before or around sunrise. Having an f stop of 2.8 with the lenses I was using, paired with the quick focusing A1 II, and the “new to me” articulating screen was the most helpful part of the system I used to photograph these amazing and fun birds. I could hang over the side of the boat right above the water and adjust my back screen to see what I was capturing much easier since it pulled away from the body. I was even able to use video wide open and maintain focus which wasn’t as easy to do with my previous camera body.
