I was 13 in Oakland in 1987 everything I grew up with is in this movie, Punks at the Gilman, Too $hort, The Warriors, The Grand Lake Theater. Must see Oakland Cult Classic!

Had such a fun time at the 43rd Hong Kong Film Awards last night. I haven’t been back since 2019 so it was great seeing old friends and mentors again. I was also excited to see a whole new generation of young actors and directors representing the future of Hong Kong film. Was honored to be asked to present the best actress award with Derek Tsang to my friend @michellewsn and also see my old pal @jo_koo win best supporting actress after stepping away from the business for over tens years. So happy for them!!
Went to the Shanghai Auto Show to talk about the build we will be doing for Rednote Car Club. A reimagining of the iconic SH670A a car that was made in Shanghai and ubiquitous from to 60’s to 90’s. Wu Jing and I back in 1995? This was when the Beijing Wushu team was touring the US and before either of us became actors. Wu Jing is a few months older than me so I always called him Big Wu. He was the one that said we both can make it as movie stars. I didn’t believe him.

Hong Kong and Hollywood actor Daniel Wu makes his return to the Bay Area. Born in Berkeley and raised n the East Bay, he became a movies star in China as a martial arts action hero. He has also starred in numerous Hollywood productions including Tomb Raider, Westworld, Love Hurts, Geostorm and American Born Chinese among others. The Great Star Theater was built and open in San Francisco’s Chinatown in 1925 where it became known for its Chinese Operas and Kung Fu movies including many of the Bruce Lee films whose father also performed in the those early operas.
