We are in contention for seven awards at the inaugural Women’s Professional Game Awards, honouring the best of the 2024/25 Barclays Women’s Super League season. Mariona Caldentey and Alessia Russo have both been nominated for the WSL Player of the Season accolade, which will be decided in part by supporters. In her very first season in charge, Renée Slegers has been shortlisted for the WSL Manager of the Season trophy. We are unbeaten at home in the league under our head coach and have scored 54 goals in just 17 games. Alessia Russo’s glorious curling effort against Aston Villa, which picked up the WSL Goal of the Month in December, is up for the Goal of the Season trophy alongside Frida Maanum. Our Norwegian, renowned for her canny ability to score from range, has been shortlisted for her sumptuous strike against Brighton & Hove Albion in November. Russo is also in contention for the WSL Golden Boot race with one game left to play. Our number 23 is currently leading the league alongside Khadija Shaw with 12 goals. Meanwhile, young striker Michelle Agyemang has thrived on loan this season at Brighton, earning a nod for the WSL Rising Star award. All the winners will be announced on Sunday, May 11.
