Syracuse, New York, 2025 The Everson Museum of Art recently invited Syracuse native William Strobeck to curate an exhibition that spoke to the museum’s history as a beloved hub for local skateboarding. Strobeck’s show, DEAD END., includes his own artworks, as well as those by Larry Clark, Dash Snow, Ryan McGinley, Earsnot Irak, Ari Marcopoulos, Julien Stranger, Dave Schubert, Tobin Yelland, Jonathan Cannon, and Spike Jonze. Longtime supporters of skateboarding in Syracuse and beyond, the museum has also acquired a permanent, skateable sculpture by Mark Gonzales, unveiled at the Everson Community Plaza during DEAD END.’s opening weekend. DEAD END. will be on view throughout the summer.
