I am very pleased to announce that a sequel to the first The Art of Heikala book is in the works! This book will be an extensive collection of my works from 2018 to 2025, within this book you’ll find finished works beautifully printed on high quality paper, sketches, behind the scenes snippets, and in depth analyses of my workflow. The Kickstarter campaign for The Art of Heikala: Realms of Imagination will launch on August 28th. More details to follow soon!

Seasons of Flowers This piece is hands down the most time consuming I have ever painted, as well as by far the largest watercolor painting I have made! I was inspired by the style and complexity of nihonga paintings I’ve seen while living in Japan. In this piece I wanted to depict the changing of seasons by different species of flowers in bloom. This piece is part of my solo show in Helsinki, opening tomorrow December 5th and running until 18th at @galleriakalleria If you are in Helsinki please come check this piece out, I promise it looks way more impressive in person rather than from the small screen of your phone!
