📌Inkstone House / Archi-Union Architects The Inkstone House, designed by @archi_union, sits at the heart of the OCT Linpan Cultural Center in Anren, China. The project features a distinctive U-shaped tiled roof that folds inward to create a central courtyard. The flowing roof form echoes the soft topography of Sichuan’s landscape, while simultaneously defining a contemplative spatial experience. Timber beams, mirrored surfaces, and fluid geometries define the interior language, creating a serene contrast between craftsmanship and computational precision. 🏗️Nieuw Bergen, designed by @mvrdv, is a 29,000 m² development in Eindhoven’s De Bergen neighborhood. It includes seven buildings and offers 237 homes, commercial spaces, urban farming, and underground parking. The design uses 45-degree sloping roofs to optimize sunlight and accommodate solar panels and green roofs. Historic structures are integrated with new constructions, maintaining the neighborhood’s character. 🌈The buildings, named after rainbow colors, include Indigo, the tallest, and Orange, which provides 48 social housing units. 📌@officialheatherwickstudio and @manicaarchitecture win the competition to design Birmingham City Football Club’s new 62,000-seat stadium, the centrepiece of the upcoming Birmingham Sports Quarter in East Birmingham. The proposal anchors the project in the city’s industrial heritage, drawing from Birmingham’s brickmaking legacy and its identity as the “City of a Thousand Trades.” The steep bowl pulls fans as close to the pitch as regulations allow, creating an intense 360-degree wall of spectators. A retractable roof and movable pitch adapt the venue for major matches, concerts, and large-scale events. Twelve brick “chimneys” form the stadium’s defining silhouette, supporting the roof, enhancing acoustics, enabling passive ventilation, and recalling the site’s long history of brick production. One chimney will house a lift to what is planned as Birmingham’s highest bar, with views stretching across the city. At ground level, the design extends far beyond matchday, proposing a public realm of markets, cafés, play spaces, and everyday gathering points. 🏟️The Greater Bay Area Sports Centre by @zahahadidarchitects will host its first large-scale events with a series of four sold-out concerts beginning on 5th December 2025. The new complex anchors Guangzhou’s Nansha District and serves the rapidly growing Pearl River Delta region, linking Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macau as part of the world’s largest urban constellation. Set within a 70-hectare waterfront park, the project brings together a 60,000-seat stadium, a 20,000-seat arena, and a 4,000-seat aquatic centre. Designed by @jkmmarchitects, the project fuses a new subterranean exhibition world with the restored 1930s Lasipalatsi building, turning an iconic modernist landmark into the gateway for a contemporary cultural hub. The museum’s defining gesture is its series of concrete domes that lift the ground plane into a playful, undulating topography. 🌊The Floating Bridge of Agia Mavra in Lefkada is one of Greece’s most unusual infrastructural landmarks, a 500-meter pontoon structure that connects the island to the mainland by literally resting on the water. Completed in 1986, the bridge shifts gently with wind and tide, creating a dynamic threshold between land and lagoon. 🌿Seoul-based landscape studio @office_parkkim has won the international competition to design the new floating stage at Suseongmot Lake in Daegu, South Korea. Their proposal, Suseongmot Floating Hills, reimagines the lake as a cultural landscape shaped by eight interconnected, plant-covered islands that form an open-air auditorium for 1,500 visitors. Shaped as gently sloped ovals and linked by pedestrian walkways, the floating structure combines fixed and lawn seating and rests on a hybrid concrete and fiber-reinforced polymer system. The project will stand just 100 meters from a new pedestrian bridge designed by Japanese architect Junya Ishigami, creating a new cultural spine across the water. 🌬️Designed by @narchitects_pllc and built with SCAD students in Lacoste, France, Windshape reimagines how architecture can breathe with its environment. The project transformed two eight-meter-high pavilions into living instruments shaped by the Provençale wind. A lattice of bent plastic pipes and more than fifty kilometers of woven polypropylene string created shifting enclosures that rippled, hissed, and continually changed form throughout the summer of 2006. Rather than resisting the elements, Windshape embraced them, turning wind into structure, movement, and atmosphere.
