But somewhere along the way, we began to see it as an all-powerful force, capable of fixing anything with a pill or a procedure. We forget: the body is not a machine. It’s a complex system. Intervene in one place, and you might trigger a cascade of unpredictable effects elsewhere. Most drugs don’t cure—they suppress symptoms. And in a system driven by profit, chronic illness becomes good business. Over-medicalization turns every discomfort into a diagnosis. Yes, medicine is essential in emergencies. But for long-term health, the best “treatment” is often no treatment at all—just creating the right conditions for the body to heal itself. Doubt is not weakness.
