There’s a lot of muscles that make up the back & certain back exercises train different parts. That’s why understanding the physiology is important. Early in my career, I didn’t grasp the concepts of back training and I would literally just go into the gym and “pull” the weight. Small adjustments, angle changes, and grip positioning can make a huge difference in your training efficiency. Take some of the cues from this video and apply them on your next back day, and see if it helps you “feel” your lower lats more!

Working hard to get my legs back underneath me after last year’s Achilles Rupture.

I been back training my legs consistently for the past month and I can feel them coming back. My ankle mobility is still extremely limited that’s why I’m using wedges to squat, and most pressing leg machines I’m still struggling to use due to lack of range of motion. But nonetheless, I’m working around it and still finding a way to progress!

Been back on my regiment for just over a month and I’m really happy with the progress. Packed back on some quality size (just about 16lbs fasted weight in 4 weeks *current weight 203-208lbs) and now it’s about time to clean up the diet some more and start leaning out.

Im off to a strong start & my confidence is building. I know my physique is bigger, better and more mature than it has been in the past. I’m excited to go thru this prep because I know at the other end of it is going to be the best version of myself. Ever.

Instant gratification is something our society has become accustomed to. In the past, I lacked patience, & when things didn’t work out the way I had wanted, or when I wanted all hell would break loose.

Things don’t always unfold the way we want, and often times we jump to conclusions thinking the worse. But something we need to remember is that “God makes all things work together for good” (Romans 8:28)

I understand that as humans it’s hard for us to see the bigger picture. It’s easy to sit and dwell on what could have been instead of looking ahead of what could be. But more times than not, I find myself in situations where I feel God is putting the breaks on my life to redirect me or to show me that something is better around the corner.

Let me ask you guys this. How many times in life have you gone through a hardship, overreacted, caused yourself and maybe others anxiety, sadness, or pain just to fast forward and realize that it was unnecessary because it ended up working out after all? For me, that’s happened more times than I can count, and it typically leaves me embarrassed and upset that I wasted time freaking out over a situation that didn’t need to be blown out of proportion.

What can you take away from this? #BeStoik stay strong and optimistic even when you feel like life is going against you. Have faith in Gods Plan, because he knows all, we don’t! What we can’t see, he can. Trusting in his timing will give you peace in mind, hope, and courage!

To begin, I do not condone steroid use. Especially for those that are not competing and even more so for individuals under the age of 25.

PED usage runs risks that cannot be ignored or underestimated. There is a right way and wrong way of doing things. If you for some reason chose to use, make sure you are smart & take proper precautions.

Being uneducated on gear can be your biggest mistake that could run the risk of taking your health away from you or even worse, your life.

My health is one of the major reasons why I am retiring after this year. Over the course of my career I have taken the proper precautions of getting my blood work done regularly (every 3/4 months) as well as getting my heart checked (EKG, CT scan, Echogram) & I’m fortunate that I haven’t caused much damage to my body at all. But now being a husband and father, continuing to compete after this year, the reward doesn’t outweigh the risks. That’s why I got myself thoroughly checked out before I started this final prep.

I’m posting this because there are so many people on social media advocating for the use of PED’s however they aren’t mentioned the risks that are involved. If you aren’t competing seriously there really is no point of taking a bunch of gear (especially harsher compounds like Tren, Anadrol, D-bol, or Halo, and a long list of others). I think people don’t understand that achieving a top tier physique is obtainable naturally thru strict dieting and training hard & for those that do want an extra “boost” there are certain compounds that don’t hold as big of a risk. TRT & some medically prescribed anavar can get you an incredible physique without damaging your body (when taken correctly). The problem is, most people aren’t willing to work hard enough to achieve it. People nowadays are looking for the easy way out, looking for immediate results, and are trying to take a short cut to avoid the discipline and hard work.

What it comes down to it..be smart, & don’t take unnecessary risks & use common sense. Don’t put anything into your body that you haven’t educated yourself on.
