Mobius Pier is a conceptual project by X Atelier that proposes a continuous wooden structure where the forest meets the Inha River, a tributary of the Douro in Portugal. Designed as a ribbon-like form anchored to the riverbank, the structure invites new ways of experiencing the landscape—whether walking along the shoreline, docking a kayak, or diving into the water. Parametrically designed for efficiency, the pier uses a single modular element repeated throughout, reducing construction impact while preserving the surrounding ecosystem. Raised on pillars, it becomes a minimal yet powerful gesture that strengthens the connection between nature and public space. _project: Mobius Pier _architecture: X Atelier _principal architects: Miguel Pereira & Ana Santos _location: Douro, Portugal _visualization: X Atelier
