The Philippine Pavilion "Woven" at Expo Osaka 2025 is designed by architectural firm Carlo Calma Consultancy Inc., in partnership with Japanese executive architect Cat Inc. Drawing from Filipino weaving traditions, the pavilion integrates over 1,000 rattan strands and panels handwoven by artisans from 18 regions. Dietfurt Limestone from @frankenschotter in its finest form. For the @retterspitz flagship store in Nuremberg, @katjareiter_interior placed natural presence at the core of the design: Flat splitface walls are easy – but curved splitface walls represent a challenge as any standard splitter here just won’t suffice. These Dietfurt Limestone walls were split by hand to create a curvature and then installed overlapping to create cascading terraces. In order to achieve the weight limits the floor can handle the back of the panels were milled out using CNC fabrication. Three Spatial Designs in the Huangyan Grottoes explore modular furniture as a non-invasive solution for adaptive reuse within a heritage site. A café, a design store, and a pop-up shop were inserted into existing grotto spaces using anodized aluminum units, assembled without altering the site’s infrastructure.
